Politico’s Global Gamble
Just three weeks ago, political junkies in Australia received a new addition to their reading lists with the debut of Politico’s “Canberra Playbook.”
The newsletter’s inaugural author is Politico veteran and Aussie Ryan Heath, who also serves as Politico Australia’s Launch Editor. No stranger to the franchise, Heath previously launched the “Brussels Playbook” in 2015.
While the new operation is still in the “buildout” stage, Heath says that he hopes to make the franchise as relevant as its Brussels and D.C. counterparts.
“We see it as the next key step in enabling us to connect the dots of our journalism around the world. Being here means we get to serve our global audiences better, not just serve a specific camera audience,” Heath told the Mumbrella Publish Conference on Wednesday in Sydney.
