Going Postal
(Exclusive.) On Thursday at noon Washington Post staffers gathered for what was billed as a “special brown bag” lunch with psychologist Gretchen Schmelzer, co-founder of the Center for Trauma and Leadership.
“Gretchen will share lessons drawn from their experiences and other organizations and people she’s worked with in the wake of trauma and sources of strength we can turn to while navigating through it,” reads the email inviting staff to the event which was obtained by Breaker.
Not invited to lunch in the Bradlee conference room were the 300 journalists laid off earlier this month as well as the paper’s now former publisher, Sir Will Lewis who also was sent packing just days after.
In a shock to many at WaPo, Breaker has learned that the morning after the bloody Wednesday massacre in the Post newsroom on February 7th, Lewis hopped on a plane to San Francisco from D.C. to attend the Super Bowl.
