(Exclusive.) A series of high profile departures at The Free Press is raising concern amongst staff about the future of the three year old media company.
In the last couple of months the Bari Weiss led publication has seen splashy hires such as former New York Post Sunday editor Margi Conklin, who had been managing editor and former New Republic editor and Washington Post deputy opinion editor Charles Lane, who was serving as deputy editor, departing their positions.
It follows former VICE journalists Michael Moynihan and Alex Chitty who left in February to join Mark Halperinâs 2WAY.
And there is the bizarre situation involving New York Times âThe Dailyâ podcast co-creator Andy Mills who had been with Weiss from the start of The Free Press. He was the driving force behind the publications hit pod âThe Witch Trials of J.K Rowlingâ but quietly left the publication after what we are told was a falling out with Weiss.
